Patrick Agan, Sophomore-Electronics

Robotics has taught and continues to teach me valuable lessons which will assist my hopeful future college career and beyond.

"MY TAUNTAUN'S NAME IS CORNEILIOUS NOVASTAR 'CHUCK' JUAN JUAN THANATOS 'CHUCKY' BILLY DEE WILLIAMS MAX THE DESTROYER."

Joey Albertson, Junior-Scoring

Interactions with other people, communication, and mechanical aspects have all been challenging at times, but we have ultimately found a stellar design and are continuing to get to know our teammates better.

"SOMETIMES YOU JUST GOTTA KINDA EYEBALL IT" -MR. DEGROOT

Hannah Brown, Sophomore-Business Outreach

I have learned a lot about what makes a company through my two seasons and have increased my knowledge of business, leadership, friendship, and community awareness.

"Hi kaitlyn"

Grace Burzinski, Senior-Systems

As the Cyborg Cats motto goes, “time in the people, talent in the robot.” As my exhaustion slowly spread, I began to question what about robotics made me work endlessly, care so deeply for the people around me, and feel such a strong sense of pride in what we did. I came to the conclusion that it takes several ingredients to make a situation as special as robotics was to me.

"YOU SHOULD ENJOY THE LITTLE DETOURS IN LIFE, BECAUSE ONLY WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN DO YOU REALIZE WHAT REALLY MATTERS." -GING FREECSS

Josh Degroot, Senior-Gamefield

  • i like this team yea
  • this team is awesome yea
  • a haiku this is

"See ya."

Baxter Estes, Senior-CAD

Every year that I am in robotics, I have the privilege of learning completely new skills and developing ones I currently have.  I also get to meet new people every year that I wouldn’t have met had I not been on this team.

"NO PAPARAZZI, PLEASE."

Ethan Finn, Senior-CAD

Robotics has taught me to lead people and help make new friends. It’s been a great time and I’ve had lots of funnn.

"My quote is hiiii."

Elisabeth Harding, Junior-HR

The Cyborg Cats is not just about building a robot. It is about the people who build that robot. This is why we attract so many different kinds of people to the team. You don’t have to be an engineer. You don’t have to be a photographer. You don’t have to be a skilled writer. We value and have a place for everyone.

Matthew Hoekzema, Sophomore-Engineering

With a team this large, we are extremely blessed to have people who love science and technology come together and work together to design and build a robot.

"I JUST WANTED TO EAT MY BANANA IN PEACE."

Alex Kessel, Senior-CEO

After 4 years, this program has taught innumerable things, spanning from engineering concepts and processes on how to lead a team. And how to fail. This is education that can’t be bought or exchanged, and for all the extra hours and stress that this added to my high school career, it turned into something worth far more than I originally imagined.

"That's terrifying"

Rebecca Liu, Junior-Scouting

It is really amazing to watch a large group of people work together for a common goal in a Christ-centered environment. Joining the robotics experience is something I will never regret. It showed me the applicability of things that I learn in the classroom, and it helped me improve my people skills.

"AUT VINCERE, AUT MORI."

Kaitlyn Mehlhouse, Junior-Business Internal

Robotics has given me the opportunity to not only be a better leader, but to learn more about the business and engineering world.

"Hi hannah"

Michelle Morley, Sophomore-Safety

I hope this year our thoughts toward safety changes so everyone realizes that safety this year is not just for robotics but for life and for their emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical well being.

"I CARE, BE AWARE."

Brennan Murphy, Junior-Engineering

Team 4256 has given me incredible opportunities that usually do not exist for a normal high-schooler. Learning sophisticated software and working next to real engineers is a true gift that makes me feel in debt to FIRST, my mentors, and the group of kids that started the team 4 years ago.

Jared Orange, Junior-Programming

Being apart of Team 4256 Cyborg Cats has helped me explore the importance and fun through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Not only has it enhanced my programming skills, but has also enhanced my skills in leadership, friendship and community.

"ORANGE YOU GLAD MY LAST NAME ISN'T BANANA.

Ciara Peters, Senior-Infrastructure

Without WCA Robotics, I would not have the connections and friendships that I do now, and I would not have had experience as a part of a professional team.

"I CAME, I SAW, AND I DECIDED TO ORDER TAKEOUT."

Drew Port, Senior-Business

From learning to communicate and lead effectively, to designing a website or account managing sponsors, the real world skills that I have obtained are invaluable as I move into the next stage of my life. I can confidently say that any student who invests their time into Westminster Robotics will come out having learned what it means to work in an actual business.

"Go Cyborg cats"

Ben Saltmiras, Junior-Programming

I have had lots of fun watching my team grow and learn java programming, as well as being able to grow and expand my own knowledge.

"SALT 🍊🍊🍊 "

Graham Stanfill, Senior-Fabrication

FIRST has been such a blessing in the past years that honestly, I will miss this more than any other high school experience.

"WHAT ARE FROGS"

Amber Terlouw, Senior-Engineering

However skills are just a few things I have gained from my robotics experience. Robotics has inspired and changed my life goals drastically. Essentially I owe much of my future to this robotics team.

"NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST."

Sydney Thomas, Junior-Drive

Of all the things that I have done in high school, I can easily say that robotics has been the most dear to me and the most important.

Luke Thuro, Sophomore-Electronics/Pneumatics

This year has been very good for me. I was promoted to leadership, which has helped me grow as a human being and as a Christian. I have and am learning to serve my teammates instead of myself.

"NOTHING ANNOYS ME EXCEPT HAVING TO SEEK THE APPROVAL OF MY INFERIORS."

Clayton Voges, Junior-Fabrication/CNC

I have had a great time in FRC making new friends. I have also learned several different things expanding from left handed wrenches to powered adjustable ratchets. I have also learned more about CNC and CAD along with the new layout for electronics.

"IF THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE IS A HAMMER, EVERYTHING LOOKS LIKE A NAIL."

Megan Wibbenmeyer, Junior-Digital Media

Robotics has really helped me improve in my business skills, and inspired me to many other future careers to go into that I never imagined.
